What is Cereal?

How is Cereal different from other robotics companies?

Body makers sell a body. Model companies sell a brain. Humanoid companies sell both, welded together. What happens to the memory when a site switches robots?

It stays with the site. Cereal stores the mind (the world model, the site record, permissions, and tasks) in body-independent form, so a new robot loads it, re-localizes into the same map of the building, and resumes where the last one left off. Switching robots should not mean re-teaching the building.

Why start in care facilities?

Because accountability is already mandated there. A robot is allowed on the floor only with supervision, permissions, and a record, and those are exactly what Cereal sells. Operators sign annual per-site contracts, and the same four jobs run next in hospitals, logistics, data centers, energy, and defense installations.

Is Cereal safe?

Cereal is supervised from day one, with deterministic safety code beneath the mind. The AI never holds safety authority. It is useful before fully autonomous, and earns autonomy skill by skill.

Can Cereal see through the site's cameras?

No one sees through them by default. Perception sources are grants the operator makes room by room and can revoke at any time, every access lands in the attested audit trail, and the presence layer watches pose skeletons, not stored video. It notices and notifies; it never records a person.

Does Cereal build humanoid robots?

No. We buy the body off the shelf and rent the motor brain from whichever lab passes our gate. Cereal deploys and supports the robot under one contract and runs it with the site mind. Because the mind is body-agnostic by design, the same building can move from a wheeled base to a humanoid, or keep the robots it already runs, without starting over: one mind, any body.

What is the embodiment contract?

A runtime abstraction between mind and body. Each body publishes a capability manifest (reach, mobility, sensors, payload), and the mind scopes every task to what that body can safely do. It is how the same intelligence runs a humanoid and a bolted-down arm without retraining.

Who is behind Cereal?

The founding team helped build Everyday Robots, Google's moonshot for robots in human environments. Google pulled Everyday Robots back from market to research, then shut it down in January 2023, before it ever shipped to the world; inside Alphabet it was already doing real work. The team is regrouping at Cereal to finish the job, joined by veterans of DeepMind, Cruise, 1X, and real-time graphics.
