What is Cereal?

What is the continuity gap?

What happens to my robot's memory when I switch robots?
It travels with you. Cereal stores the mind (the world model, memory, preferences, and tasks) in body-independent form, so a new robot loads it, re-localizes into the same map of your home, and resumes where the last one left off. Switching robots should not mean re-teaching your life.
Why start in the home?
The home is the hardest useful proving ground for embodied intelligence: unstructured, high-variance, and safety-sensitive. If a mind is useful here, it transfers anywhere. And the home is not a stepping stone: the home is the business.
Is Cereal safe?
Cereal starts with human-in-the-loop control and clear safety boundaries. It is useful before fully autonomous, and earns autonomy over time.
Can Cereal see through my home cameras?
No one sees through them by default. Perception sources are grants the household makes room by room and can revoke at any time, every access lands in the attested audit trail, and what the grants buy you is a home you can ask: where are my keys, did mom take her medication, who came to the door.
Does Cereal build humanoid robots?
We make the robot; we do not manufacture the body. The Cereal a family buys is an integrated platform built on maturing OEM hardware, deployed and supported under our brand, running Cereal's permanent mind. Because the mind is body-agnostic by design, the same home can move from a wheeled helper to a humanoid without starting over: one mind, any body.
What is the embodiment contract?
A runtime abstraction between mind and body. Each body publishes a capability manifest (reach, mobility, sensors, payload), and the mind scopes every task to what that body can safely do. It is how the same intelligence runs a humanoid and a bolted-down arm without retraining.
Who is behind Cereal?
The founding team helped build Everyday Robots, Google's moonshot for robots in human environments. Google pulled Everyday Robots back from market to research, then shut it down in January 2023, before it ever shipped to the world; inside Alphabet it was already doing real work. The team is regrouping at Cereal to finish the job, joined by veterans of DeepMind, Cruise, 1X, and real-time graphics.
